my week in instagram photos. 

so, my 30th birthday is coming up on tuesday. i can't believe it! i'm excited to be done with my 20's and look forward to what my 30's have in store. i treated myself to an iphone for the big day. i toss and turn about being so connected to electronics and the internet, but i really don't think there is a better way to try and make it as an illustrator. i figure you just gotta embrace it. 

i'm looking forward to celebrating with friends and family this weekend. (i have class tuesday night) the plan is cuban food, raw cheesecake, bike rides, a ferris wheel (fingers crossed), garage sales and lots of photos!

I recently discovered the blog - Illustration Ralley and it just so happened to be

around the time they put together a Pattern Rally competition. Here is my submission for

porch weather

After a week of rainy cold weather we finally have porch weather here in Chicago. A couple Friday's ago my internet went out all day (almost drove me crazy) and I spent the whole time doodling in my sketchbook. I finally got around to taking some pictures of it today.

I'm slowly adding some goods to my shop. In the next few weeks I'm putting together a bunch of pre-designed Save The Dates that are pretty cute - there is one I wish I would have made for my wedding. For now, I'm offering custom illustrated maps for weddings and special events. Please stop by if you get a chance.
