Phew! For some reason I have the hardest time with repeat patterns! If you have any helpful tips or advice, I'd love to hear them.

This is my design for this weeks Spoonflower contest - Bicycle. Please stop by and vote if you have a chance!

Rag Doll

I was at the library last week looking through Martha Stewart Living and I came across an article about Jess Brown and I instantly fell in love with her work.  I'm sure you will to when you see her beautiful dolls. I highly recommend watching her Artists & Farmers series -- I think I might want to move into her studio and start making rag dolls.

Got my test swatches in the mail from spoonflower. Could not be more excited about them! Especially the Cotton Voile material. Going to wash the fabric and make the stuffed lion this week!

I am becoming obsessed with the contests on Spoonflower. This week's theme was coordinates and I designed the Roar! Lion Collection. I thought it would be fun to include a stuffed animal pattern, which I am going to attempt to make!

If you have a chance, please vote for my pattern over on the site - there are a ton of good ones I'm competing against!

peek a book!

peekabook

It's been on my to-do list for awhile now to create designs for textiles. A few weeks back Spoonflower was hosting a "cloth children's book" contest and I felt what better place to start? I submitted my design and made it to 4th place! Not too bad for my first time! I'm waiting for a sample of the fabric to arrive so I can actually make the book, but promise to show you updated images of the final project.

In the mean time I'm waiting patiently for this book to arrive in the mail. I can't wait too start creating more fabric in 2012!
