I have a huge fear of flying. Huge! I wish I was one of those folks that can get on a plane - no problem. But I'm not. What are your tricks for happy plane flying?

Ruff Drafts
I had hoped to introduce you to Ruff Drafts yesterday, but instead I spent the day with a friend who was in town. Ruff Drafts is my new little side project - custom illustrated pet portraits! This idea has been in the works for a year - yep a year! I finally buckled down this weekend and put together the shop. My whole idea is that I love to draw, I love to draw animals, I'd love to draw your animal!
It's really simple and hopefully will be a lot of fun. Stop by and have a look if you get a chance.
And a portrait of my old cat Penny and old dog Franny who are both no longer with me.

Flower Journal
It seems as though the only way to feel spring around here is to draw flowers. I started to keep a little flower journal and doodle flowers in it when I'm feeling uncreative.
I am loving this etsy shop today.
This studio tour!
Going to this show tonight.
Are you on rdio? Got any music recommendations?

I'm still here
It has been two weeks since the big move back to Chicago. I missed this place and I am happy to call it home again (for a very long time - no more moving for us!).
While moving the klutz in me slipped on ice and I fell on my drawing hand. I am better now but it is really hard to open doors and jars. I will live.
I am having withdrawls from the internet, but it has been a nice break to be away from blogs, emails, and twitter. I have had plenty of time to unpack our place, organize my studio, visit the new neighborhood library and during these two weeks I must have read 5 books. Wow what would my life be like if I never used a computer?
Our internet starts this weekend. I will be back next week with my regular blog posts. I have missed you!
